Blender 5.1 · procedural sceneThe Last Observatory
Animated preview · 640×360, assembled from the per-frame renders. Loops.
A tiny planet, an observatory, one astronaut, and a black hole rising over the horizon. The camera starts close on the dome and pulls back over six seconds until the whole world sits in frame against the accretion disk.
Everything in the scene was built through Python: the displaced planet, the observatory and antenna placed by ray-casting onto the surface, the astronaut, and a black hole made from a black sphere, two procedural emissive annuli with a Doppler phase, and a camera-facing photon ring, lensed halo and glow.
